The GX550 Rear Bumper has arrived!
You may have seen the original prototype for the GX550 / LC250 on our good friend Eric Sarjeant’s personal LC250 which he just put through it’s paces on the Rubicon! This is a new and improved design to maximize strength, ease of use, and compatibility between the Lexus and Toyota platforms.
Some key design features include:
- Single tire carrier / swingout that centers the spare on the back of the truck
- NEW! Spindle design that is more robust, weather sealed, serviceable, and rigid all while being removable (unlike our traditional welded in design)
- NEW! “Squirrel” Latch mechanism that offers secure, rattle free lock up while being easier to use!
- Integrated overland style table
- Adjustability for various spare tire sizes that are preloaded to prevent wobble / squeaks
- NEW! keep open lever that eliminates the need for gas struts all while still providing a positive lock to keep the swingout open on uneven terrain.
- Cross traffic sensor cutouts for use on LC250 (block off plates for GX550 since they are mounted above the bumper)
- Reverse / chase light cutouts that fit Nacho Nano as well as Baja Designs S2’s
- Higher recovery points for better ground clearance (can be fitted with soft shackle doughnuts)
- Rear camera relocation bracket into the center of the spare tire
